Costa Rica's Digital Nomad Visa Is Ready For Applicants

If the lush mountains & jungles of Costa Rica are calling you for a digital nomad adventure, things have just gotten a lot easier to make it happen. According to the Tico Times, Costa Rica’s President Rodrigo Chaves finally signed a bill on July 4, 2022 making the Costa Rican Digital Nomad Visa Official with a few modifications to make the process more simple and fast.

A few key requirements in the process include:

• Earning minimum of $3000 USD/ month

• Having health insurance during the entire stay

• Getting your supportive documents for the application translated into Spanish

• An application fee

The Tico Times also reported that the CR government will have 2 weeks to make the decision, and if approved you can remain in Costa Rica for 1 year with ability to renew if certain factors are met.

During the Visa length you won’t have to pay any Costa Rican income tax or import duty on things you purchase, and you’ll be able to import up to two cars.
