Nomading in Riviera Maya Mexico? Uber Finally Relaunched There - Sort of

While Riviera Maya Mexico (the area comprising Cancun, Playa Del Carmen, Tulum) is one of the most popular tourism destinations in the world for good reason with its gorgeous beaches and vibrant sunny vibe, most travelers will tell you their #1 gripe with visiting there is the lack of Uber.

Uber had tried to launch in the area a few years ago, but was essentially bullied out by the local taxi community.

Last week on January 11th a Mexican judge ruled that Uber can operate again in the area, but there’s still several hurdles involved before operations can fully come to life, and ongoing resistance from the local taxi community.
