Six Tips For Your First Week as a Digital Nomad in Dubrovnik

The Adventurely team is spending April in Dubrovnik Croatia, as a part of the Dubrovnik Digital Nomad Ambassador’s program! We’re excited to be here and learn the ins and outs of this majestic city, and will be sharing lots of upcoming content on what its like to live and work remotely from here.

One of the most important things for digital nomads to experience when they get to a new destination- is a quick path to settling in! This is crucial so that they can get into a good routine, and be able to fully focus on work.

Below are 6 tips to help you fastrack settling into digital nomading in Dubrovnik:

  • By bus: Dubrovnik Airport has a shuttle bus that is usually scheduled around flight arrival times. It’s a spacious, clean, comfy bus, and it’s currently only 9 Euros to ride into the city center, about 30 minutes away.

  • By Taxi: There’s several taxi’s directly outside of the airport, with rates of approximately $40-60 USD to get you to city center.


  • There are several Studenac Market grocery stores in and around Dubrovnik. You’ll easily be able to find one or several in the tourist zone.

  • There’s also open air markets where you can get fresh seafood and produce - Gruz Market just outside the city center is a popular open air market.


  • The Local bus is surprisingly easy to navigate in an around the city

  • There are plenty of local taxi’s around if you need to get somewhere more conveniently

  • Uber is available in the city - a good option to use once you’re in the city center (vs using from Dubrovnik airport)


  • Stay tuned for a more detailed post from us dedicated to places to work remotely from in Dubrovnik by the end of our stay in the Dubrovnik Digital Nomads Ambassadors Program, but for your first week of settling in to work remotely here, here’s 3 great spots - be sure to appropriately order food/beverage when you go!

    • The Hilton Hotel Cafe/Restaurant (cozy indoor & outdoor seating; located just outside the entrance to the old town)

    • Kavana Gradska Restaurant (Chic spacious restaurant Inside the old town, facing the sea with gorgeous views)

    • Urban & Veggies - located outside of city center.


  • The Dubrovnik Pass offers an easy and cost-effective way to see the top sights in Dubrovnik.

  • You can purchase a 1 day, 3 day, or 7 day pass to visit various galleries, historic sights & the famous Dubrovnik city walls. Its a great investment for a nomadic stay in Dubrovnik!


  • The Dubrovnik ancient city walls are approximately 1 mile long and will take 1.5-2 hours to walk. While many of the hotels in Dubrovnik have gyms, if you’re nomading from a local apartment or Airbnb in Dubrovnik and want to work out, taking an early morning walk along the ancient walls not only will give you one of the best views of Dubrovnik, it will also be a great work out!
