We're Headed to Tirana's Digital Nomad Fest! Here's Why Tirana Albania Should Be on your Nomad Hitlist

We’re excited to share that our team is headed to Tirana Albania for the Tirana Digital Nomad Festival!

Taking place from September 14th - September 16th 2022, the festival is being produced by The Municipality of Tirana, with partners which include EU for Innovation, Albania Tech, Lurasi University in Tirana Albania, Swiss Entrepreneurship Program, Credins Bank of Albania, Alabania’s Uplift Startup Accelerator, & many other incredible brands in tech, entrepreneurship, & innovation.

Our Founder Mita Carriman will be speaking there and we can’t wait to dive into this dynamic city and connect with some of the other speakers that will be in town

4. If you’re a Nomad who Craves Beach Destinations, Tirana has one Close by!

Located only 45 minutes outside of Tirana is the beach-side city of Durres.

Durres is the biggest and most visited beach in Albania, and for good reason. A number of notable Hotels overlook the beach and it’s a popular place to visit with people particularly from Albania, Kosovo and North Macedonia


5. If you’re an American, You Can Stay in Tirana (Albania in general) for up to 1 Year on a Tourist Visa

6. You’re Gonna Love the Food in Tirana

7. There’s Exciting Things to Do & See in Tirana

Adventure-wise, Tirana Albania is often described as Europe’s “best kept secret”, and for good reason. Mt Dajiti (pictured above) is one of the most famous sights to see in Tirana.

8. Side trips to Croatia, Italy, Montenegro, Greece, & North Macedonia are easy to get to from Tirana

Tirana is on the other side of Adriatic sea where the "heel” of Italy’s “boot” lies. Tirana also borders Greece, Montenegro, Serbia, & North Macedonia. Croatia would be relatively easy to get to as well. One of the best perks of nomading are side-trips from your nomad base, and you’ll have plenty of great options for side trips from Tirana.

9. Tirana is Regarded as Being a Relatively Safe City

Regarding safety concerns, Worldnomads.com notes this about Albania in general: It’s pretty safe to travel around Albania. Albania does have petty crime, but no more than a major city would elsewhere. Crime is rare, and most locals are hospitable and welcoming to travelers.

10. The Cost of Living is Relatively Affordable

Granted, different nomads will have different budgeting needs when they start to live & work remotely in a new destination, but the general reception from many travel media sites is that Tirana is a relatively affordable city.
