Central Istria Croatia is Growing a Gourmet Winter Wonderland for Digital Nomad Foodies

If working remotely during the winter from a scenic, quaint European city where gourmet food reigns supreme and your time outside of remote work will be spent exploring foodie adventures at places like local farms where you can buy fresh amazing cheeses and local truffles; local wineries, prosciutto drying facilities, and honey point confectioneries? Then Central Istria Croatia needs to be on your digital nomad bucket list!

Central Istria is a Croatian region characterized by unspoiled natural landscapes and rich heritage. It features numerous villages and districts that ooze charm, magic, and almost surreal scenery.

While Croatia has been a long cherished digital nomad destination in the summer months at their coastal cities of Split and Dubrovnik, Central Istria is entering the global digital nomad scene in a bold way as a new digital nomad destination in Croatia focused on offering digital nomad experiences during the winter season, and with a laser sharp focus on attracting Digital Nomads foodies with a penchant for all foods gourmet.

According to Travel & Leisure magazine, “eating your way through Istria should be top of your travel bucket list.” The Washington Post describes the food in Istria as “similar to Italian food, but heavier,” and that the smell of truffles lingers in the air.

Although truffles are almost usually associated with Italy and France, “the Istrian dense oak forests and humid grey soil provide ideal growing conditions for black truffles in the hills, and, the most valuable, white truffles in the valleys.”

What’s clear more than ever, is that Central Istria is a legit foodie paradise of truffles, wine, pastas, meats, and cheeses.
